2024 Cookson Hills Oklahoma - Marriage Retreat

This trip is open to married couples and is being facilitated by the Blankenbaker campus.

Have you ever been part of a marriage retreat serving other couples?  For several years, SECC has sent a short-term team of married couples to Cookson Hills to provide a Marriage Retreat for the house parents.  The team provides encouragement, training and fellowship to couples who often serve up to eight children as full-time parents.

The on-site couples look forward to the retreat each year and love the relationships that are generated through the trip. Having concentrated time to focus on building up their spouses and strengthening their marriages is a blessing to both the couples being ministered to, and to those who go on mission to serve them.

The beauty of this trip is we have couples that attend every year because of the bond that develops between them and the house parents.  If you are a married couple who would like to not only minister to the house parents at Cookson Hills, but develop friendships with other couples at Southeast, this is the trip for you!

Since 1957, Cookson Hills has provided home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. They are a children’s home in Northeast Oklahoma, serving kids ages 5-17 who want to write a better story for their lives and have experienced challenges with family life, homelessness, poor peer relationships, abuse, or neglect. Compelled by the love of Christ, the Cookson Hills team works together to fulfill their vision – to raise up healthy individuals who are empowered to positively impact future generations.

Restrictions:
1) Trip members must be adult members of Southeast Christian church or have verified attended for at least 6 months.  Youth over age 12 applying must have a parent applying and both must actively participate on all aspects of the trip.  
2) Trip members must be able to actively walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs.  
3) Daily basic travel insurance is included in your trip costs.
