2024 Josiah Venture Serbia
Our Indiana campus is facilitating a trip to Serbia to partner with Josiah Venture (JV) this summer. This is an English Camp and is open to anyone 18 and over and is ideal for college aged students.
To tell you a bit about JV in Serbia, in October 2000, God brought together some youth leaders who formed a network that became known as MREŽA. In 2003, MREŽA became part of Josiah Venture. Over the past several years, members of MREŽA and the youth leaders in Serbia have been helping bridge the gap between denominations, equipping youth leaders, and partnering with local Serbian churches to reach out to youth in their communities through English camps and other evangelistic activities. We pray that God will open more doors to reach out to the youth of Serbia. We desire to see Serbs reaching out to Serbs, to see God work through the local church, and to see the negative views of evangelicals portrayed by the Orthodox Church restored to an accurate picture of Christ followers.
You can expect the trip to be a bit physically demanding as the students often hike the mountains in the area and the teams put in very long days.
Restrictions:
1) Trip members must be adult members of Southeast Christian church or have verified attended for at least 6 months. Youth over age 12 applying must have a parent applying and both must actively participate on all aspects of the trip.
2) Trip members must have a current passport with an expiration date that goes 6 months beyond the last day of the trip.
3) Trip members must be able to actively walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs.
4) Daily basic travel insurance is included in your trip costs.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Passport must be valid through January 23, 2025. If it expires before then, you will need to get it renewed prior to the trip.
- Southeast Volunteer Application must be completed within 5 days of trip application. Missions Ministry will send to each applicant who has not already completed one.
- If over the age of 18, MinistrySafe must be completed and current. The Missions Ministry will send this to each person who does not have it after they have signed up for the trip.
Responsibilities
- Updated vaccine requirements are NOT included in trip cost. Required vaccines are sole responsibility of participants. Please visit the CDC website to check requirements for your destination. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/list
- Attending in-country orientation.
- JV is leading the trip with SE filling a support role and providing what they request while on-field.
- Attend all debriefs as requested by JV and the SE Team Leader(s).
- Be flexible and able to adapt to a quickly changing environment.

Preparation
- Complete the Trip Application.
- Research JV and Serbia to understand the ministry partner and culture the team will be visiting.
- Pray and ask God to guide you regarding the trip.
- If you have any existing health issues, be sure to chat with the team leader(s) to be certain this is the trip for you.
