Critically Loved was started because our Executive Director has a 20-year-old daughter diagnosed with
life threatening internal bleeding. There were not resources or supports to help her family navigate the
practical or emotional side of managing a child's healthcare. After many years of the family learning to
navigate this difficult road, TyiaLynn founded Critically Loved to walk alongside other families on a similar
path. By supporting the entire family, the child benefits greatly.
Support is provided:
PRACTICALLY: with issues relating to school, medical bills, and health insurance
EMOTIONALLY: with professional counseling and through events to connect families with one another for
organic support
SPIRITUALLY: in group support at churches around the community
Critically Loved also focuses on Special Needs Child Abuse Prevention with Face It, and Inclusion
Education where typical children learn to appreciate differences of their special needs’ peers.
Since most families are already overwhelmed with medical bills and time off work to care for their child,
we never charge for our services.
